This is a high quality lip balm that provides the added benefit of UVA/UVB sun protection. It consists of natural based moisturisers and botanical extracts to leave me confident that it is providing an adequate coverage without causing any irritation to my sensitive skin. Being an SPF15 it effectively protects my lips without yielding the usual, pesky white film on my lips that I have noticed always seems to accompany the higher SPF lip products, normally being zinc based ones. Thankfully there is no white film at all with this one, it is completely invisible. It does however, produce a slight waxy residue, due to the synthetic bees wax, but I find it is best to apply the balm to my lips before my normal lipstick or gloss and it then makes for a great lip primer with the added sun protection bonus. It is rich and creamy in texture, which glides on with ease leaving a protective, waterproof coating that acts as a barrier between my lips and the harsh environmental elements. It is extremely hydrating on dry, chapped lips and instantly soothes leaving my smackers feeling significantly softer and smoother to touch. After the initial application it gives me about 1 ½ hours of waterproof protection before I need to re-apply, but if I am not swimming I find it lasts on for up to 3 hours and even then my lips still feel lush and nourished, without being starved for more hydration. It is also beneficial to use on other sensitive skin areas that need protecting also, such as my ears, so its good to know that even those sometimes forgotten areas are not going to get burnt while enjoying water play. The handy, pocket sized tube is ideal for on the go and I like to keep one in the bathroom, in my handbag and beside my bed for regular top-ups, because I love how simply and effectively it keeps my lips in perfect condition all year round. I recommend this balm to anyone who wants to be assured their kissers will be kept well hydrated, super smooth, soft and permanently chap-free with the additional advantage of the protective, waterproof sun shield feature to safeguard those very important assets.
